Red Right Hand: SO CLOSE YET SO FAR

SO CLOSE YET SO FAR

Jim Mercurio, the Screenwriting Expo Competition coordinator has made available the list of winner and finalists. We, of course, are only concerned with one category.
TELEVISION - TOP 10

WINNER – HOUR-LONG
Lost - The Road by Frederick Kim

WINNER – HALF-HOUR
Family Guy - Kill Your Vegetables by Brian Lubocki & Ryan Harris

THE REST OF THE BEST…
Criminal Minds – Trophy by Drew Traglia
Desperate Housewives - The First Time She Got Paid for It by Ryan Harris & Brian Lubocki
Entourage - Super Hero by Wayne Chiang
House - Two Certainties by Michael Patrick Sullivan
My Name is Earl - Guru Larry by Casie Fox
The Office - Anger Mural by Adam Sass
The Office - Company Picnic by Tracy Reilly
Ugly Betty - Ay, Black Betty by Jane Mountain

Nice to know where I stand.

Also, because the finalists lists are evenly split between half hour and hour (as was with the quarters) that's like saying "top five in hour-long." (I can be very good at self aggrandizing sometimes).

Also also, noting that none of the other
House specs made it (see?).

Also also also, a shout out to fellow competition finalist and blogette
Elisabeth Fies and her Pistoleras, a semifinalist in features (ZOMG, a sentence that wasn't about how awesome I am).

UPDATE: Hey, I won some stuff too. Happy dance performed.

Congrats!

House is a huge challenge-- the characters, the procedural aspect to the medical mystery... I'm not surprised you don't see many House specs up there. Way to go!

Congratulations - I think doing a House spec has to be more challenging than Lost, and WTF is up with the Family Guy one? Really? Is it a bunch of random jokes and too-long, unfunny gags?

Ooh, so close...but hey, you made it further than than Jul and I. Of course, we didn't get past the first round, so...

Impatiently waiting for AAA Screenwriting to put their finalists up. I liked it better when I DIDN'T know the dates...

Congrats! Stop to smell the roses of your accomplishment and then get right back to writing... you're clearly on the right track.

Congrats. I'm in there too - that's my Ugly Betty - and I did exactly the same as you... Top 5 in hour-long! The only Ugly Betty to make it!

Did you actually win stuff other than admission to the expo? Cuz if so I wanna know where's mine?

Why not tell us all how you managed to do a House? It's my favorite show but I can't imagine even attempting it. Did you get a medical degree before you started writing?
